Day 2 - It's All in the Name

Trisomy 21 was first described by Dr. John Langdon Down. So rather than Down syndrome being named after how someone felt or how someone acted, it was named after this doctor. Many people wonder how differently individuals with Down syndrome would be perceived if the doctor’s last name had been Up or even Smith.

Speaking of names, many ask where we came up with Eisley.  I caught the end of a radio interview with Tenth Avenue North and a band member had a new baby girl whose name meant strong and cheerful.  They were discussing how it was a rather unique name, but I missed what it actually was.  Somewhere there was also mention of a later discovered Star Wars reference.  I gave the clues to my hubby and he solved the puzzle.  We had a couple other names picked out as well, but this one seemed to fit our princess the best.

I had to leave room to share about our trip to the zoo with Uncle Bob and Aunt Connie - you know, seeing all the animals that Adam named :).  The Nighthawks game, starting 6+ hours later was sold out and parking was crazy already.  Luckily we spotted someone leaving on a side street and grabbed their spot.  The boys had a good time paling around with each other.  Lexi adopted Uncle Bob to carry her, hold her hand, lift her to see features and walked next to Laini in the stroller most of the time.  Which left Keira as the middle child she is, not really fitting in anywhere, but certainly trying.

While the dads and the older kids checked out the butterfly house, the moms and
babes hung out, people watched and played photographer for random groups of people.

Oooo fishies

The girl played so hard and missed her nap.  She didn't even notice when I sat her down at the dinner table.

Boys will be boys
