After just 6 weeks of PT we have certainly seen results. This feisty little girl is up on all fours and now throws herself forward - a self inflicted face plant, but she gets up to do it again. Hey, there are places to go and things to see! Yesterday's session showed off a bit of E's attitude. She could sit - if she felt like it, otherwise it was back to ragdoll syndrome and covering her eyes (maybe in embarassment for not working too hard). Lexi has grown to love our PT, Lani - not to be confused with her cousin, Laini. The best part for Lexi is getting to play with all the toys and pretty much having free reign doing so. Our lovely Lani will be off soon, welcoming her own little bundle at home. While she's gone, we'll be working hard to impress her when she gets back.
I'm sure if you've been following our story, you were really waiting to hear about the results of Tuesday's tests. The pediatrician called (red flag - the nurse calls if it's normal) this afternoon. The MRI showed some extra fluid in her collecting system (the cerebral spinal fluid which coats your brain and spinal cord). She was not sure of the significance of this - sometimes this poses an problem and sometimes does not. Eisley had a normal MRI before leaving the NICU last winter. However, more concerning was the EEG, it demonstrated some possible seizure tendencies on the right side of Eisley's brain.
Next up is a visit to the neurologist. Lucky for us, our pediatrician's partner is married to a pediatric neurologist, so instead of the next available appointment in December (!?!) we are seeing her on Monday. Thanks to Dr Calderon for pulling some strings at home!
So with our answers, we have lots more questions, but we do know that: "He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." - Job 5:9

Jen also passed on the results. So thankful you were able to get her a neurology appt so early. That is crazy, waiting until December... Praying for your family and Little E. Keep us posted!
I have been searching your blog for your pg and birth of your little E...it looks like she was born around the same time as my Lily? (Jan.16th) Did you write a birth story? Also- she is on all fours already? Lily just has an early intervention therapist, but not a PT specifically. Her EI therapist says she is doing great, but then I see other babies doing more. I hope we are doing enough for her. She is still very tiny (12 pounds) and her therapist says that has a lot to do with her muscle tone and ability to get around. Love your blog:)
Patti - the beginning of our story is on our Caring Bridge site (link on the left)- started due to our long hospital stay. Start with the oldest journal entries. Hopefully the two will merge someday. Eisley is up on all fours, but would much rather do that than work on sitting. We just recently added PT outside of the EI, especially since insurance covered it 100%. I think one of the biggest advantages both our girls have is older siblings - they are a HUGE asset!
