Today was the reunion for NICU families at Children's Hospital. Eisley was only at Childrens for a couple days - to have her G-button placed where cardiac anesthesiology could be part of her procedure. The remainder of our 6 week NICU experience was at The Nebraska Medical Center, our place of comfort and familiarity. Childrens has, however, become more familiar to us as Eisley has her various needs addressed. What really drove me to attend was to help our friend, who organizes the TNMC reunion, and let her know what the competition is doing. Not exactly the purpose they intended when the invite was sent, but that's the risk you take. We did look for our nurse, Sunny, but didn't see her amongst the several hundred folks crammed into the lobby and hallways.
There were a variety of carnival games set up with token prizes for each player. I think we now have an eight piece cup set for the credit union:) Of course face painting, by some lovely young girls. And t-shirts for each family member. The lady behind the counter looked as if I was trying to cheat her out of extra when she read off there were 6 in our family. Yes, really, see all four kids right here, well, at least running near by? The best gift of all was in the goody bag - a maraca. I used to shy away from the noisy toys, but we are now seeking motivation for a little one to sit and reach and eventually crawl for items. Eisley loves the maracas and will reach for them every time!

Tristan came prepared with his DS (ha Nintendo not Down syndrome!) in case he got bored
Painted pretties, the girls thought Eisley needed one too, we managed to get a heart on her cheek
Touring the ambulance decked out for kids. Eisley just got the plain old boring ride last winter, although someone a bit bigger and with a longer trip would probably enjoy it more anyway.
It's just not a trip to Childrens without checking out the water attraction. Strangely, I like the faint smell of chlorine that comes with it:)
