The day came more quickly than we realized. Although Eisley had a few sniffles and coughs, there was no fever, so onward went the surgery plans. Her new favorite toy - a stethoscope (except when you get too excited swinging it around, it can bonk you right in the head!).
After the quick check-in and settling, we waited for the surgeon to come mark her tummy. He said that was the toughest marking he's had. E's hernias really only show when she's crying, he tried feeling them out, but it didn't look right, so unfortunately we had to come up with something to upset her. Take away her new toy - yep, that worked - the first marks weren't right, so it's good we double checked.Once she was wisked off to pre-op we barely had time to grab a quick lunch before the surgeon was around to say it was done. Before we knew it the nurses were carrying her back in - although they admitted they'd rather keep her since she was so snuggly:) After a 1:15 start time, we were home by 4. Now to spend a couple days snuggling and snoozing!
| We now have a trio of surgery bears - hopefully the bear family stops there! |
