14 Years Later

14 years ago, I was climbing into the cab of a monster truck, trying to get my wedding dress to fit inside with me.  (What was I thinking?)  Sean came up with the plans for us to take the day off work, keep Grandma scheduled to watch the kids and have the day to ourselves.  We do get about 18 hours of respite care paid for each month for Eisley, but it's hard for me to use that time, I'd much rather be with her.  Also, she's not the one that's difficult to take with you shopping etc, but this was a great idea!

We had breakfast out at Le Peep's and dining while only taking care of yourself, once in a while, is just fabulous!  Then off to Village Point for some shopping and just hanging out.  The early show of Harry Potter.  More shopping, then a late lunch/happy hour at a new sushi place - Okinawa - very good!

It seemed like our day just flew by, but it was so nice to have it.

Back to reality.  We finished up some Christmas deco, the advent calendar, and let the kids open their ornaments for the year.
The older kids will want to place a particular character and count backwards to chose their place in the rotation of who gets to add the item of the day.

Keira offered that Eisley should get the honor of placing Baby Jesus, since it's her first Christmas.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - along with wild and crazy hair!

Slow and methodical ripping of the paper

Each one has a Precious Moments Baby's First Christmas ornament

But that's MY ornament, I don't want to let go of it!

Happy Anniversary honey!  It was a wonderful day with you and the kids!

Those last 2 pictures cracked me up. She loved that ornament so much! Sometimes it is just hard to let go and put it on the tree with the rest of them.
