"Vacation"

Leave from work anyway.  Sean took 2 weeks off for Eisley's surgery and I have a month.  So not really vacation, but family time at home anyway.  This week was spent preparing and recovering from carpet installation.  Woo hoo!  There's finally new carpet on the main floor and throughout the upstairs.  Two of the bedrooms were hardwood and now everything is carpeted in "sandcastle".  It's soft and easy to nap on.  Eisley was good enough to christen it for us as well :)

Admist the carpet rennovations, the girls snuck out to lunch with GG and Mike & Jean Hartford.  Good times catching up on recent ongoings and lots of teasing to and from Uncle Mike.  And of course baby passing too.  We did our fair share of dining out, but also got some family cooking done too.

Keira was the victor with the wishbone.
Keira helped make some cupcakes and frosted them too.

And of course Lexi tried to help with the cooking too.

Eisley had her follow up with the surgeon on Thursday.  All went well and we don't have to return to see Dr Hammel.  Keira in her usual form made a card for Dr Hammel and I think more of the conversation in our room revolved around Keira, kindergarten, favorite colors and princesses than anything cardiac or surgery related at all.  I did clarify about the echo Eisley had before discharge from the hospital.  Her filling volumes of the ventricles was a little low, most likely indicating some dehydration.  Which is not at all unexpected after surgery and being NPO for a while.  Nothing to be concerned about, Dr didn't even want a follow up echo to see.  Hurrah - we have officially conquered the surgery mountain!

It was good to have Dad around this week to help with all the girls and Tristan.  He did do some work, calling into meeting etc, but didn't go into the office except for Friday afternoon.  That wasn't to work, that was simply show and tell time for all those he works with.  It's going to be a lot busier around here once he's back to work full time next week.
