Bed, Baseball, Birthday Party & Baby Steps

Saturday morning started off with cinnamon rolls in honor of Lexi's bday.  Also with everyone piled in our bed.  This is something I really craved those winter weekend mornings as I drug myself out of bed to pack my things and head to the hospital.  Of course there's eventually a foot in someone else's space or a head blocking the cartoons, but I just sat back, enjoying having my family all together.  Poor Anakin just stood next to the bed nearly shaking as he wanted to be part of the group so badly!

Tristan had a ball game and the girls finally made it out to cheer him on.  Two K's before we arrived (fashionably late) and then a single.  Mom busted him and caught on film that he was't paying attention.  Lexi also discovered she likes pistachios and I had to share!
(yes, that's him looking upside down!)
An afternoon to prep and the grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles appeared ready to celebrate.  Since Miss Lex will yell out "pizzzahhh, pizzzahhh" we chose that for dinner along with cupcakes decorated with her latest favorite - princess snacks!

In true two-year-old fashion, Lexi was a bit overwhelmed by all the presents.  She would have been happy to just play with the first couple, but eventually got all the paper off and revealed her loot.

  • A snuggly bear from Nana & Papa Rich
  • Special Dora PJ's and a Tink shirt from Grandma & Grandpa Moser
  • A plethora of princess items from Uncle Bob & Aunt Connie (camping chair, ball, frisbee, 1st Snow White doll)
  • From Mom, Dad & sibs - Little People learning town, flip flops, chalk, colored pencils, coloring book, Dora pj's, headbands, pretty shoes, hopper ball, princess chair & step stool
The kids had a great time playing basketball (we really need to upgrade from the Fisher Price hoop) while the little ones played inside.  They even ate outside, the girls at the new shaded table and the boys under the fort.  Anakin enjoyed them eating outside as well, although he doesn't go after the scraps inside, everything is apparently fair game when outdoors!

Today was graduation for TJHS - our alma mater - including two of Sean's cousins - Courtney and Anthony.  We went to Anthony's party and caught up with some of the Bersane clan.

Miss Eisley is continuing to make progress, albeit baby steps, with feedings.  There have been a few sucklings on the bottle rather than biting and some more swallowing of the milk rather than spitting it out.  Tonight she even downed all her cereal, a whole teaspoon, but would have taken more had it been available.  As I sat feeding her I recalled an early conversation with the lactation consultant - our end goal was likened to a marathon and the session of the day to that of walking around the block.  Maybe today was more like actually jogging around the block - it's better than where we were last week!
