No Fear

No fear is apparently the motto of Lexi Lou. Everyone headed to the park Thursday night for Tristan's baseball practice. We were a bit late getting organized so the girls all ended up picnicing at the park - that's more fun than eating at home anyway! The field where the team practices also has a little playground nearby. So after our dinner we had time to play. Lexi was right out there climbing ladders and going down the big slides. She didn't even try the little slides once, guess they are too boring! For a while she had a rhythm, up the ladder, up a few steps and down the swirly slide - again, again and again. Occasionally she slipped on the ladder, but just slid down, got up and climbed again.

(this is the one that finally caught her off guard, but even the bigger kids have a little trouble at the top)

It was a family & friends kind of weekend with a couple graduation parties.  Getting our weekend started off with small group usually sets us in the right direction.  A backyard full of kids, Bible study and then snacks and socializing - it's hard to beat that!  Saturday was Noah's grad party (from small group) and Sunday was Courtney's (Sean's cousin).  Good times to celebrate their accomplishments and get to see lots of family and friends.

Eisley scored a new ball from a shopping trip.  It actually started with birthday money for Lexi when she chose a new ball last week.  Eisley liked it so well, I had to get one for her too - Lexi's still working on the sharing thing.  It really is a great toy for her, lightweight, lots of places to grab easily and colorful.  She's even been transferring it from one hand to the other.  When not playing with the new ball, Eisley is grabbing any other toy she can reach to start chewing on or working out sitting up in her chair (up to about 5 minutes now!).

The pool is nearly ready to be used.  When not out celebrating, we spent time at home getting the algea and leaves cleaned out and finally adding fresh clean water today.  I lost count how many times the kids asked if they could get in.  But finally let them stick their feet in and see it was still pretty cold.  That won't stop the whining and begging, they will still plead to get in and once there, will stay for a few moments until their lips start turning blue as they shiver.  You'd think by now at least Tristan would remember, but the water just draws them in.

Sounds like a great weekend! And we have that same ball at our house. The girls love it -- glad your girls do, too!
