Talking to the Animals

Anakin has taken a back seat around Eisley since she came home from the hospital over a year ago.  Anakin is just a day younger than Keira so he was here when Lexi joined our family, but I don't recall him being so distant with her.  He must have just known this baby required a special touch.  He still sat protectively nearby - on the edge of the blanket or guarding the top of the stairs near her room, but just hasn't gotten too close.  Eisley is definitely more on the move and has gone exploring to find this furry friend - although she's not too sure about doggy kisses!

Eisley got a new horse with some birthday money.  She's surely not afraid to sit on it at all - she loves to bounce and giggle - a much better horse rider than her mommy!

Once in awhile that cute little horse starts to buck!  Uh oh!

When not teaching the kiddos to talk to the animals, we met with the school for Eisley's IFSP.  It's been a whole year since they first came out and met Little E!  Thinking back, the assessment was fairly quick - she couldn't even hold her head in midline when lying on her back.  The girls admitted Eisley was one of the weakest babies they've ever seen.  At the time we had no idea, we were just glad to be home from the hospital.  Since then Eisley has learned to sit independently and crawl on all fours and many other things in between.
The IFSP meeting didn't quite go as we had hoped.  All of the goals were written before the team arrived, which didn't allow for any input from us.  They were also quite vague and definitely not measurable.  So we've requested a "do over."  We're looking forward to a conference sponsored by the NE Dept of Education this weekend and hoping to bring home some great info to help our next meeting go better.

She's getting so big! And I love how she's taking on that horse. Awesome to see! :)
