Back to Life; Back to Reality

Mom survived her first day back to work. It's all a bit overwhelming for now. No one was really getting all her work done while she was out, the other two nurses did what they could, but it was a very busy summer for everyone. It will take a while for Mom to get her feet back on solid ground and get everything organized again. Hopefully soon there will be someone to work the other portion of Mom's part-time status and help out. It was good to see all the co-workers and have some cartoon free time with adult conversation. The gals there were so glad to have Mom back they even brought breakfast to celebrate!

And the kids (mostly of concern was Lexi) survived with Nana. She wasn't too sure about the bottle thing, but eventually was hungry enough to eat. Papa even had to change a dirty diaper (nearly a first!) while Nana was out to the Dr.

The work day ended early with Tristan's 8 yr check up - 55# and nearly 52 inches. The Dr is great - chatting directly with Tristan about the importance of showering regularly - meaning shampoo to the hair and soap to ALL parts of the body! Getting wet and getting out doesn't count as a shower? He's not a smelly kid by any means, but it's good for him to hear this from someone besides Mom and Dad. And he doesn't even roll his eyes at the Dr!
