This sweet angel went to be with Jesus earlier this week. Sophie came down with RSV, seemed to be doing ok, but just didn't wake up in the morning. Today was the celebration of her life. This was the most difficult funeral I have ever been to. I was glad to see that over a dozen moms from our Down syndrome moms group came to support the family. There were so many beautiful pictures and a video. I am definitely going to be taking more video of my kids just being themselves! The grandparents, parents and several family members shared some of their memories. Chris, Sophie's dad, talked about his deployment and "just breathing Sophie in" before he left.
Their pain is unimaginable. Please keep their family lifted in prayer for peace, healing and recovery.
