Happy Father's Day

We had our semi-traditional Father's Day breakfast on Saturday with "dontits" from Krispy Kreme, followed by a couple baseball games and hotdogs courtesy of Ford (more on that later).  Nothing exceptionally special about the day, except wonderful time with our family.  Church and then a yummy lunch at Charleston's - where, maybe the best gift of all, the kids behaved.  Too bad the good behavior took a vacation soon after arriving home, so the kids got to clean the house - aught to use that more often!

After naps, we headed out for a very unfatherly activity.  Lexi and Eisley got their ears pierced.  We had planned to wait, but the "pink store" where Keira had a great experience is closing.  I never thought I would be one to have a baby's ears pierced, but nothing else we have been through with Eisley has been typical.  Both girls did really well, Lexi started to holler, but as soon as she saw herself in the mirror she was fascinated by the earrings.  Eisley just didn't like being held still, but didn't really complain once it was over.

We spent the evening with Nana, Papa, Connie and Bobby - and Anthony & Laini of course!  Grillin' and chillin' amongst the thunderstorms.  Looking forward to some more family time over the 4th!

Keira took the pic, the boys were in the basement playing video games.

Eisley &  Laini

We were definitely slackers in the gift department.  Dad will probably get a belated Bazinga t-shirt from our own Sheldon and who knows what else.  Eisley was the only one who managed to get something together, thanks to her teachers at daycare - a gift quite fitting - a baseball with her name and handprint on it!
