Last night we had the opportunity to attend a Greek Orthodox Wedding, definitely a different experience. The ceremony was filled with many ancient traditions, including a ring ceremony, candle lighting, joining of right hands, crowning, common cup and ceremonial walk; luckily with a bulletin to help explain some of them. We also noticed there were not any instruments used, but many of the readings were actually sung by the ministers. The kids did pretty well considering the service was 90 minutes long. The grandma-ish person in front of us glared a couple times, but the bride and groom didn't hear anything - that's all that really matters! (Sorry the pics are a bit blurry and off color, but I only took the pocket camera.)

| Waiting for the ceremony to start - not so sure about this hat. |
| A moment she was still quiet! |
| The church is very ornate with lots of things to look at. |
| The ceiling of the sanctuary - Lexi noted "Hey, Jesus remembered His Bible!" |
| Finally at the reception, T showing off one of the many favors - heart magnets wrapped in a silk bag. |
| The girls digging into the boxes of candy, they also had coloring pages and crosswords with pencils. |
| Oh, and bells with ribbons - Eisley's favorite part! |
The ceremony started on a sad note. The maid of honor was killed in an accident just a few days prior, they had a nice memorial time for her before starting the wedding. It was also interesting we had our first public "I noticed your daughter has Down syndrome." That's all they really had to say. It was actually the father of the bride, he also shared his business card with us from The Sheltering Tree - a service group of the church which provides assistance to those with disabilities.
Congrats to Glenn and Maria, we wish you the best!
